The DF Smart Synergies Lab addresses the clear need and opportunity to increase the safety of smart homes, improve the social infrastructure of communities, and examine best practices to advance information infrastructure to support situational awareness during emergencies at the individual and community levels. Inspiration for this project emerged through work supported by the National Science Foundation and Mozilla. This team is comprised of experts in public safety, information technology, and community informatics. In addition, members of this team hold ongoing partnerships with early adopter PSAPs, first responder groups, and industry partners in public safety. The DF Smart Synergies Lab has the potential to spark interest in those working in the smart & connected communities realm.
