About

Hypersonic flight is defined as speeds exceeding five times the speed of sound. The Hypersonics Lab aims to advance knowledge in this interdisciplinary field by providing a forum for faculty, students, and visiting researchers, focusing on non-equilibrium aerothermodynamics, materials response to high-enthalpy flows, propulsion systems, and the navigation, guidance, and control of hypersonic vehicles. Using theoretical, computational, and AI-based techniques, our mission is to make foundational contributions that can be transitioned into design tools for future hypersonic systems in advanced transportation and national defense. Additionally, the lab is dedicated to preparing the next generation of researchers and technology leaders in hypersonics.
